...but our level 5+ SCD-777ES in the shop is on 24/365.But NEVER NEVER NEVER leave a SCD-1/SCD-777ES in "Pause" mode longer than you need to answer the door etc. Not like I used to - leaving it in pause overnight - cause that's what seems to really bring on the sled motor problems.
Turned on but without the transport in action just keeps everything at a nice constant teperature that MINIMISES thermal shock caused reliability problems.
That's what I do myself - and what I recommend to all clients.
