I think the on thing most people forget is the mastering of any title, CD, SACD, DVD-A, most of the CD's mastered today are mastered with no regard to, cabling, vibration control,sample rate conversion, word length reduction dithering, all these factors are critical in the final product, then when the digital master is sent to the pressing plant there is no regard for jitter or most other procedures that preserve the fidelity of the original sound, don't get me wrong I'm a big fan of hi rez digital but a properly mastered cd and burned not stamped can sound as good or sometimes even better than a DVD-A or SACD this has been proven many times.
