the objections seem to relate to the use of 1-bit delta-sigma A/D converter technology (DSD is the output of such a converter "raw" rather than decimated into PCM).

But guess what, ALL current flagship ADCs utilize 1-bit delta sigma technology. Some use a hybrid design, but delta sigma is still there.

So if the objections are true, we are doomed!

PS - i noticed absolutely no substantiation is provided for their assertions, apart from the fact they are done some "measurements." Would be nice if they would actually publish these measurements so we can judge for ourselves, but perhaps that is too much to ask for.

PPS - I just captured a 19997 Hz sine wave absolutely perfectly (within the limits of ADC resolution) using a 1 bit delta sigma ADC. I wonder what they could possibly be referring to when they said there were problems after 10kHz.
