Thanks for your comments. I know I'm probably being awkward now, but do these boxes have any level adjustment?
I don't know whether you saw my follow-up message but I'd really like a remote control solution now that my friend and I have established that he has an overloading problem at the amplifier input that has to be addressed. We were listening to some of my hybrid SACDs last night played through his carousel CD player and the sound was downright unpleasant at times. (I know the discs are free from the sort of distortion we were experiencing, whether it be CD or SACD) He really needs to be able to adjust channel levels while seated in his normal listening position, otherwise it become a real chore. I know this solution is going to cost more that $30.00 but ....
