Multichannel switchbox required

I don't know whether anyone can help me, but I'm trying to locate a multichannel switchbox (two-way) for a friend of mine who is about to purchase the Sony SCD-CE595 SACD carousel player this week. He has a Technics amplifier that has a single multichannel input section, which he is currently using for his multichannel DVD player. The amplifier's CD input is stereo only. There is an additional problem is that I'm sure some sort of level adjustment will be necessary if the CE-595's output is typical of CD/SACD players because the Technics multichannel and CD input sensitivities are only 200mV (into 22K) and I can already detect quite serious overloading on occasions with both high-level CDs and SACDs (CD layer) when we've listened to them through his Technics carousel CD player.
I've done a search this morning that turned up a Radio Shack multichannel switchbox (part number #15-1952) but I haven't been able to locate any sources for it, or any further technical information about it, so I don't know whether it has any level adjustments built into it.
I could make up a box for him but I'm not sure what the best approach would be for the various level adjustments. A series of pots -- even if the front and rear left and right channels are separately ganged -- in the box between the Sony outputs and amplifier inputs seems like a messy solution to me but I can't, off hand, think of anything better.
Any advice/suggestions would obviously be appreciated.
