As far as the niche format that sacd is....2 channel reigned,bloomed...or exsisted,survived...or whatever on 2 channel alone at first because I have been here since the very beggining and still prefer 2 channel on most sacd's..Neither one of you answered the questions of which were the first multi channel players and sacd's....so I probably need a long time sacd veteran... if there are any left here to answer these questions?
I remember the Sony SC1,Marantz 6k player, Pioneer 4.5k player and all the other original Sonys ..9000es,777 being 2 channel only....and was wondering how many years...or how much time went by...before the first ss discs...or a player to play them on...came to be?
Was it the Philips sacd 1000(aka boat anchor) that was the first 5.1 player....or?....and how many months/years went buy with only 2 channel available?
