New high resolution SACD releases, players and technology.

If you add-in a replacement clock...

...you can mount is away from sensitive areas, using 50 Ohm coax cable<

Sure you can -but as NO replacement clock (LC Audio, Audiocom SuperClock 3, Vacuum State RCM etc) can CORRECTLY drive a terminated 50 ohm coax (they just do not have adequate output voltage or current to do so) running more than an inch or so of INCORRECTLY/non terminated coax brings as many problems as it solves.

The use of high performance clocks in the Sony SCD-1 as well as others players are a well proven concept!

Agreed - and even with a non-optimum installation they can bring good results, but they need to be correctly (that word again) implimented to deliver their FULL promise - and FMAK is correct that a big unshielded pcb clock picks up so much digital grunge when mounted down right where it needs to be in a SCD-1/777ES that it is non optimum.

But one of the above mentioned clocks is intended to be mounted right by the clock signal insertion point - hence bypassing the problem of driving a terminated 50ohm coax - and uses a shielded osclillator module with an external ultra low noise powersupply to allow this.
