Thanks for the educated reply.I also just found the AC inlets are reversed, like mu old Sony SCD1 I have to use the cheater plug and reverse +/-, and all the some what negative points Mr. Mike Fremmer made in his review are all gone, not lean, not ultra fast with no overtones etc.
I am amased that reviewers never check ac polarity, having my DP77 for two week and letting it settle into the system, I heard the thiness and lack of body and dynamics also, got my cheater, flip the prongs, sat back down and all was well. The bound for Sound has been taking about this for years, check your ac polarity!! Why so called proffessional reviews don't is beyond me?
Thank to all for your imput. Racer guy is right on, listen for your self and make up your own mind.
PS yao reply was by far the best.
This is a very nice unit to own, musical, transparent, great bass, and music as a natural flow to it, not much digital sound to it at all, I have already did some a/b against my VPI analog rig.
This unit is a keep just the way it is. Just make sure you try swiching the ac polarity, if not, you are not hearing your Accuphase at it's best.
