Hi,The balanced signals are converted to singled ended so that you can improved the CMRR (Common Mode Rejection Ratio) in order to remove the hum and noise.
Your Accuphase practiced the same way as Marantz, Sony etc.
Most Pro-gears did the same, just check the schematic Diagrams at Bryston site.
The Blanced input signal is converted to single ended and the entire amp / pre amp are single ended in nature. The Balance out from the pre-amp is then again derived from the single ended output.
TI / Burr Brown has very good Balance to Single ended receiver and vice versa single ended to Balance transmitter.Regards
