Also, because of the complex acoustic environment of earcup/ear canals, etc.., understanding or interpreting headphone measurements is not as simple or as well understood as loudspeaker measurements are. What might appear on headphone measurement graphs as shocking "jagged" peaks and/or troughs might in fact sound acceptably flat to individual(s) involved in actual listening tests, because what the the eardrums pick up is the complex sum of all earcup/ear canal interactions.Designing, measuring, and/or evaluating a pair of headphones might actually be more of a subjective "hit and miss" affair than we would like to admit to in these modern times...
