You are not being very specific. What you say could be down to anything. The DVD side of a DualDisc is simply a DVD-5. There is no optical difference at all. I've never heard of any read failures of the DVD side.b.t.w. I was once given a demo of a Linn Unidisk, and it wouldn't play many discs properly (ordinary DTS surround DVDs & DVD-As). I certainly wouldn't buy one after that experience.
