I consider the specs, which say that the maximum thickness for Redbook CD is 1.5mm (1.2mm +/- .3mm) to be quite clear.1.5mm from a DualDisc is within spec. Above 1.5mm is outside of spec.
When we consider that Racerguy is measuring some discs at 1.6mm, we have less than 10% variation from defined spec. IMO a competently designed mechanism will handle this variance from maximum without a problem.
Lexicon has given a retraction to their earlier warning, and I expect others will do so over time.
