...I just picked up Bob Dylan "Unplugged", James Taylor "Live at the Beacon Theatre", and Harry Connick, Jr. "New York Big Band Concert" Music Videos. They were on-sale at Border's for $9.95 last week. All were Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround and 48/16 Stereo. Essentially the stereo sounds like a two-channel CD, and the surround sounds like...well...like Dobly Digital. The shame is that the surround adds potentially so much to these concerts, but the sound is so rough that after listening to them in surround, you've got to listen again in stereo just to have some semblance of what the sound was really like in quality.If Blue-Ray allows us to have true high-rez surround on music video's, I'm all for it. But until then, Sony is simply taking the easy way out with their DualDisks. It's a shame that the big music companies are run by people without a clue.
