Very tactful of you not to comment on the Value Proposition that these speakers do not present!
My prototype has a $425/each (including shipping from Europe) woofer, a $363 tweeter, and two $110 passive radiators. Just over $1,000 (per speaker) before crossover, cabinet, and hardware.
But if I were pricing my latest design at retail, it would be $12,500 the pair.
Even if Scan-Speak is making custom versions of the woofer and tweeter (and why should they have to?), I just don't see $24,000 worth of value there.
I did study Economics, and I recall that in her book "Imperfect Competition," Jane Jacobs stated that high price can be as important a purchase incentive as low price, but, really, folks!
