Have you read anything on the reliability of the return mechanism? It's not rated well on the 100C.A fully automatic table I've looked at is the Pro-Ject Automat A2 (not the A1). The price is keeping me away, but it may not affect its attractiveness for you since the Technics turntables are not cheap.
If you're looking for arm lift at the end of a record, you may want to consider another table & an arm lifter, such as a Little Fwend or an AT-6006R. Be aware that a lot of tables may not have the room for a lifter.
Good luck.

I used a device called the Q up, only when I used it it was a thorens branded device, for many years. the problem with that type of deal is that every time you play a record, regardless of the occasion , you have to set the device to trigger, otherwise the stylus is pushed sideways at end of play. .
I doubt a person with particular physical needs would enjoy such a situation.
I use a Q-Up. A helpful & woefully overpriced device. Reliable, but cheap-looking & feeling. I'd love to upgrade the lifter, but that requires a new table, which isn't in the cards right now.

For whatever reason, the SL-100C seems to garner far more complaints about the auto lift mechanism than the SL-1500C.
I can think of no technical reason why that might be, BUT I did just learn from SkyFi Audio in NJ that the SL-100C is reserved for big box stores and pro audio dealers, so home audio oriented dealers are only able to offer the SL-1500C. That makes me wonder if Technics's QC is better for the SL1500C than for the 100C or if it's just customer demographics accounting for different expectations.
I'll take a look at the Project Automat A2. Thanks for the tip.
