I have one I picked up years ago. I haven't been able to figure out how to upload the picture I took with my cell phone to this post. But I did have a question. I have readt that the old plastic knobs can be quite brittle. Is there any chemical or compound that can treat them and renew them so they aren't so brittle. I realize that just tryng to get them off the shaft is probably the greatest time of risk with these knobs. Norm

By boiling them. I saw an article in the Rock Auto news letter about boiling older plastic pieces, clips, knobs to restore and extend their life, so I gave it a try. First were the plastic cooling system parts in the Lincoln LS that were known to become brittle, crank and leak. Since replacement would cost about $600 at the time I figured I had nothing to loose. After boiling the parts were more pliable and lasted until I sold the car with 120k on the clock. I have also done other parts on a 2002 Camaro and really tough to find knobs and vacuum system fittings from a '64 T-Bird with good success.

I am not aware of a chemical to rejuvenate plastics -
one of the fundamentals with plastics is that the monomer that causes the reaction to complete, and then solidify, often does not 'complete' the reaction for a long time (years) and if the monomer is, as most of them are highly volatile, it can evaporate or dissipate from the plastic, leaving it incomplete, or fragile.

I've read that Kenwood made some of their receivers before the Kenwood brand was imported to the U.S..
I email the picture from my phone to my computer.
Plastic does "rot". And I believe those knobs are notorious for not surviving.
All this brings up the question again that I raised a couple of months ago. Where are decent looking knobs available that can be used to replace the whole set? The dual concentric type are especially troubling as there seems no options available at all. I guess you could replace the pot with a simple 2 gang one, but other options appear limited.
could they be 3d printed?
