  Leads on caps are tinned copper according to Clairty cap site.
  I just read a post about someone refurbishing old Maggies and they had trouble soldiering wire and contacted Magnepan. Appearently they are aluminum wires and they sell a kit for repair.
  Im not sure if they were refering only to planar wires or hook up wire too. Seems they would use same kind wire through out.
  Ill put a call into Magnepan and go from there.
