As dumb as it sounds, I am receiving a positive effect from adding this deice to the output of my balanced ac conditioner. I bought it months ago and just never got around to playing with it. I was cleaning stuff out this morning and stumbled on it...any who...it appears to effect the system in a positive way.Alan

The effect on the audio system may be nothing more than changing the mechanical resonance of unmated outlet contacts.
Try wrapping Teflon thread-seal tape firmly around the connection parts of an AC plug of similar size, and compare the sound with it plugged in to the same outlet.
I use EAR C-1002 to damp all the outlets.

.
Depending on the plug, it may be easy or difficult to wrap each terminal independently. I use short pieces of tape and a pair of tweezers for tight spots. Either tighten or remove any screws.
An alternative mentioned by another inmate is to use child-protection plastic plugs in the unused outlets. I don't have experience with this approach, but it seems reasonable, especially if you apply some acoustic damping material to the outside of the plug.
Years ago my Sister got some free gadgets from her power utility that plug in and generate some sort of noise on the power lines that annoys mice so much that they split. They dramatically reduced mouse incursions, but didn't stop them completely.
I couldn't see how having something that affected a mouse could be a good thing for humans, but then again I don't spend much time running along Romex in the walls.
Eerie stuff...

I know what you're talking about...those things are horrible for a/v set up's. The frequency is right in line with digital circuits....injects a huge amount of harmonics on the line.
This little guy is designed to create common mode rejection on the line to lower EMF signals. I don't know if the resonator injects into the air to combat noise, but it's probably used to alter the line frequency of the circuit. It appears to offer a small improvement.

... your stuff is much better.---( <:
Thank you.

Have you seen the web site?Alan
... and NO mice!
I guess the scarer must be very effective!
That is what they tell me. It has been well received by the audiophile and pro audio market.

Do you just plug it in to one of your system a/c outlets? What is the sonic effect? Is it as good as the L inductor?
It appears to be a y configuration noise filter. It is nothing like the Hammond or PE filter. I plugged it into the first outlet in the daisy chain. I finally removed it...the sound was good, but the video on my plasma display got very weird...washed out and green...don't ask. As for sound quality, it adds a little foundation in the bass and a little extra definition in the mids...nothing to go nuts about, but if you are interested in a Quantum style product, it offers a similar effect for a lot less. The video actually started out very nice...add 3D look, etc, but mt plasma goes nuts whenever I add parallel filters into the loop the first few days...nothing new.
