You makes the best tube 6922
Follow Ups:
I am very pleased with the sound by a lot over JJ tubes that I had previously (although that was years ago that I bought the JJs).

The BEL E88CC Gold Pins sound best to me...not surprising as they are parts made by Amperex/Philips and assembled in India as part of a disaster recovery plan.
Best I ever heard was the Amperex pinch-waist tubes. Good luck finding any these days...-...-
Hard to beat RCA, GE, for life time use - sound quality that is too subjective...
CJL
Actually CJL, RCA (and I believe GE also) never produced a 6922. They relabeled other makers tubes, mostly Amperex and Siemens. They can often be found at a discount to those brands. If you find a gold pin RCA 6922 at a bargain price, grab it!

I found the new Gold Lion 6922 tube to be quite good.
$35 each before matching, shipping and tax.
Why spend more on very sketchy "NOS"?
I parked my Tele's in the drawer a long time ago. The JJ's are that good.
Haven't tried the gold pins, the regular pins sounds great.
+1 on the gold pin JJ E88 tubes! I just replaced the stock tubes in my Freya N—no name Russian 6NP1s—with them and the difference is startling. I realize that is not the toughest comparison, and other tubes, including the regular JJ offering, would also be better than the Schiity ones the preamp came with, but I am well pleased. I look forward to them getting even better over the coming weeks.
And I'm not surprised. I've used JJ EL84s in my amplifiers for 20 years and always liked them, ditto their 12AX7 and 12AU7 in those applications. Speaking as a guy who remembers paying $10 or so for Amperex, Telefunken, Mullard et al back in the golden age, l'm now a JJ fanboy. Also note that Mike Sanders of Quicksilver fame finds their current preamp tubes better than NOS.

I second this pick but I buy the non gold pin model. Sounds great and is relatively cheap. I must say, JJ has really upped their reliability game lately.

I spoke with the guys at EuroTube about the gold/non-gold versions a few years back. At the time they were a significant importer of JJ stuff ... or at least claimed to be. Anyway, the story I got from them, should you choose to believe it, is that the gold pins are selected production and get subsequent gold pin treatment, and, well, a higher price. Did not elaborate about criteria for selection, but sounded good enough to justify the extra $3 or $4 per tube to me back then.
They sound incredibly similar to the Telefunken 6922's I'd been using to that point in my CAT. Also, JJ's frame-grid 12AX7 is an excellent tube.
In my Prima Luna amp only the RCA clear tops better the JJ ECC802S's. Funny, in other applications the clear tops do not fare as well but in this application they sing! The JJ's sound a little more laid back and my Vandersteens can use a little more top end.

I have found the Valvo CCa sounded best in my amplifier.
Good luck finding CCas these days. Back in the early 2000s, I got a matched quad of Siemens CCas, and they were hideously priced even back then. That was the only time I saw them, but damn the did sound good. :-)
