Found in an apparently stock Dynaco FM-3 tuner. Are they the originals? I think Dynaco was not the actual manufacturer?
thanks,
LT

That is a Telefunken tube and it will pull right out of that socket.

It's the original tube.Dynaco sourced its tubes from major manufacturers like Telefunken, Mullard, and Rad-Tel :> )
Looks like a Telefunken from this distance. Also appears like a hint of the Diamond, from behind, is showing up in one pic. I could be wrong. It would be the first time.

I suspect the 'West' lettering is a dead give away.

If there is a diamond shape on the bottom, it's a Telefunken.
Thanks,
I'm not prepared to try and pull them out of the sockets until I obtain a "tube puller". The tuner looks in fairly good shape considering it's age, but I hope to restore it and am being very cautious.
Would not suprise me if the sockets - or any of the components actually - broke or crumbled when disassembling.
And I do not have access to a tube tester so probably will only be able to test for shorts once I do get them removed.
A tube puller, if what you mentioned is what I'm thinking of, will pull all that white lettering off the tube...- My understanding is those were made to pull hot tubes from running equipment - in your case just using your fingers or gloved fingers will remove the tube and preserve the printing if you're careful...-
Just grab it near the base and gently rock back & forth a bit while pulling it upwards. You don't need a tube puller.
