Well.
Let's see.
The buyer agrees to the sellers contract.
The contract states what the refund policy is.
The buyers sends an "off-the-wall" derogatory threatening eMail demanding the seller break the contract.
The seller says that in spite of your threats we will give you a refund in stead of an exchange, BUT, you must mail the tube back to me first.
Once the seller receives a refund, then will you be HAPPY?

Bob - you are thinking only as a seller, not as a buyer who's been victimized by this scammer. Let's look at a few things:
1. Use the link below to look at a typical realjazzcat auction on eBay. There's so much bull, hype and outright lies, how are you supposed to figure out anything with this guy?
2. Realjazzcat clearly states in his auctions "We back our auctions with a 100% satisfaction guarantee." It sure doesn't sound like it to me. It's double-speak at best.
3. I didn't take the victims e-mail as threatening. After being victimized, he did some research, found out he's dealing with a scammer and sent a strongly worded e-mail basically saying that he wasn't going to take any crap from realjazzcat. It's too bad there are not more "Tom Tests" out there, refusing to be "bullied" by realjazzcat. If there were, realjazzcat would have many more negative feedback comments.
4. In dealing with the victim, Realjazzcat has twice tried to "up-sell" him, each offer worse than the previous. Another sure sign of a scammer.
5. A little history goes a long way here, do some research. Knowing realjazzcat's long history of scamming people and preying on tube newbies tells the complete story.
6. Realjazzcat's RMA# bullshit is laughable. Like he's some big corporation. He's a lone scammer out for every penny he can squeeze from as many suckers as he can. He's the WORST this hobby has to offer.
I can go on and on, but most people when presented with the facts and information get it. Some people still won't and that's what realjazzcat is banking on!

Nice prose.
While I somewhat understand why you might not count RealJazzCat as top on your list to buy tubes from, I've seen his adds for a few years, your appraisal of my thoughts confuses me.
After all these years, I never realized I thought like a seller.
What can I do to think like a buyer?
If I buy tubes for another 10-15 years will I then think like a buyer?
How can I protect myself from being a victim of up selling?
If I sell some tubes and someone asks about a better sounding tube that costs more, how can I protect the buyer from becoming victimized by my answer?
If I point out a tube that might sounder better but costs less, do they become a victim of down selling?
If I buy a tube I'm looking for, but at a higher price than expected, am I a victim of level selling?
If someone buys a tube from me, at the price they expect, are they a victim of right selling?
If they buy a tube at the price they expect, and it exceeds their expectation, are they a victim of wrong selling?
If I plot tube performance vrs price and help someone buy a tube using that, are they a vector victim? If they don't buy, but enjoy the experience, are they vicarious vector victims? If I use vigor and threaten them, vicarious, very vigorish, vicious, vector, victims?
Thanks for the humor--it brightened up my day.

"After all these years, I never realized I thought like a seller. What can I do to think like a buyer?"My point was to put yourself in the shoes of the buyer/victim. It's very sad that you seem incapable of doing so.
Sure, people are responsible to educate themselves about something they are buying and don't know much about. I'm just trying to help them out a little. It's your right if you want to defend a verified liar and scammer.
By the way, I forgot one last thing. I don't normally resort to name calling, but I will make an exception in this case. You're an IDIOT! What's your eBay ID?

Thanks for the comical break from the junk political phone calls, and boring news coverage about what will happen tomorrow.
You have cooties.
Your mother dresses you funny.
She never puts cookies in your lunch box.
And, your head looks like a brussel sprout (yucky).
My eBay id is Insensitive IDIOT
Whenever I feel sad, I spin my Dave Van Ronk and the Hudson Dusters album; Romping Through The Swamp is the cut that usually cheers me up. Give her a try--you won't feel so sad about my inability to live up to your expectations.
Next time I buy tubes, or fruit at the supermarket, and have buyers remorse, I'll loudly proclaim "I AM A VICTIM!"
