I bought essentially my entire system from Audiogon classifieds. I drove to the seller's homes for three of the main pieces. Not local either. I drove from New Hampshire to NYC twice and to Stamford,CT once,almost to NY. The others Were cables, not cheap purchases themselves and I relied on the overwhelming preponderance of positive feedback to decide to pay-pal the sellers. I have since read here Audiogon appears to refuse to allow negative feedback to be posted though I'm not sure that's actually an unwritten policy. If it were then I'd have a problem using them again.

Personally, I no longer am interested in any gear which I cannot drive to.

  to buy a pair of Avalon Radians. I decided to go another direction with my funds so didn't but I would have driven 20 hrs round trip had I pulled the trigger.
