A crook; scammed a number of individuals on Ebay under a previous ID a couple of years back ( vactubes )
Search: pettee on this forum; plenty more postings!
Investigation at that time traced him to his employer, Lockheed Martin in Long Beach, and to a trailer park address he had recently vacated in southern California
Unfortunately, he had covered his tracks well enough that Small claims court summonses could not be served as a physical address could not be found for him
Received an email today:
"Hello,
I read a thread on the audio asylum. Is he at it again? I am waiting for simple proof that the seller has indeed the tube offered. I have requested more photos Possible he has copied photos from other sites an posted as own. I am cautious. He has not much to lose buyer playing with a new profile. A new profile with 0 feedback. Paypal will not offer any protection! Ebay will do nothing more than close his account! and he can walk away with the cash! However as a community we can bring this gangster (if identified as such) to the attention of the authorities. Namely the FBI as this is a case of internet Fraud. I should know I work for the good guys. Any information or opinions? Please let me know

I would like to hear from anyone that has been scammed by this individual as there is enough evidence already to prove Fraud

I got an email today from a German person - Duilawyer 22:28:21 12/01/07 (5)
thanking me for tipping him off that pette was a scam. After reading your post, I went to the sale of the tube, and wrote an email advising the top bidder (who I think won!) that the seller was a scam. He asked the seller for a picture of the tube with todays newspaper. peete disappeared. Buyer thanked me in pigeon English for saving him a couple hundred Euros. The internet is weird, I have another German friend I have never met, like Patrick in Outside. How great!!!

  for at least the 2nd time around; all items he had listed under that latest ID, donaldpettee, have been pulled from Ebays server, he's no longer a member
  This thieving scumbag was previously kicked off under his "vactubes" ID; he "submarined" back then leaving a lot of out-of-pocket victims
  "All it takes for the Bad Guys to succeed is the Good Guys to do nothing"
  Now, if we can only *find* this guy....

      and the Post Office won't give up his address
      Pettee may no longer live in Sunnyvale CA, but maintains a PO Box there
      
      He was successfully traced to a trailer park address in SoCal a couple years back; but had already vacated

        I exchanged emails with a SoCal local who had picked up an item from Pettees address ( but wouldn't reveal anything but the general location )
        I can't believe that someone can cover their tracks like this; scam people out of $1,000s of dollars, and be "Untouchable/Unreachable/Unsue-able"
        
        Someone will know where to find him, then there's enough evidence to prove fraud. He is likely not unknown to the authorities. SoCal police were very helpful; but referred me to the Small Claims Court
        
        That's a dead-end because he has to be served with paperwork from the Court, and that requires a physical address
