I just bought some tubes from this guy in France and it's been well over a month since payment was sent. I haven't even received a response after emailing him about when they were shipped. I filed a complaint and if anything changes for better or worse I'll post a followup.
At least a caveat to others at this point.
If anyone has information about this guy I'd sure like to know, and hope that it's positive!
Thanks,
Bob E

Maybe you should report it to eBay!
Well, the tubes arrived yesterday and I'm glad I was wrong. The most alarming thing was his failure to communicate at all, until I filed a complaint. Heard back a few days later. Tubes were OK, but NOS I seriously doubt. First and last time with this one!
If he sent them through "snail mail" it could take as long as 8 weeks for a shipment from Europe to reach North America. Otoh, if it's express post you should have it inside a few weeks. Could they also be stuck at customs?
Thanks for the positive suggestion!
I checked this out and he sent it via La Poste, which should take a couple of weeks and also looked at feedback from another US buyer who's time of posting would reflect a 2-3 week shipping time. I'm still hoping that it's just a delay which is why I wasn't crucfying this guy yet.
He has only 88 feedback ratings yet calls himself "powerseller..."
a little presumptuous?Relatively new sellers on the "up and up" are trying hard to
gain a 100 percent feedback rating. His feedback isn't reflecting this. You may already be familiar with this online website. I've found it to be a valuable tool in "assessing" sellers. Enter their Ebay user name and you can see (all at once) the negative feedbacks people have left, as well as the feedbacks seller has left others.
want their money back because it is not the original styrofoam surrouding the perfect amp. (Yes, I had a Paypal chargeback for not original styrofoam). I had a buy agree to pay $4 shipping for the LP, and after the auction say he would only pay $1.25, then eng me claiming I was greedy.
I had a Canadian buyer neg me for "not being understanding" that he bid on a United States only auction and I would not fill out phoney customs docs (right after 911). So I am at about 96% and proud of it. 3% of people online are psychotic, if they don't get their way, fine with me.

A guy hit me up for $25.00 because a pair of speakers, which arrived with no damage, were not packed correctly.I was missing two small (6"X9") pieces of styrofoam. I paid the money to keep my perfect feedback at Audiogon. This was pre-feedback censorship, which is why I kind of understand Audiogon's policy. A better one may be to allow comments on feedback.
must have a disclaimer:
"Seller does not guarntee authenticity of packaging; the sellers goal to safely pack and ship your item overrides the buyer's desire for previously used ("original") packing materials. Seller may at his discretion subsitute or augment the packing as he sees fit to package the merchandise in teh safest manner. Purchase of this item constitutes agreement to this term, and waiver of any right to refund for "unauthentic" packaging".
.
Excellent disclaimer. Pass this on to the Ebay and Audiogon staff. Wouldn't you think that one of their "staff" lawyers might have thought of this already?

Thanks for the toolhaus site. Makes surfing for negatives less tedious. You'd think eBay would have this option if they really were concerned about alerting bidders.
I thought the few feedbacks that were bad may have been understandable but I tend to sugar coat the facts if something looks a little off. I have seen many sellers get negative feedback in the beginning and get it together after they got the hang of it.
I only hope that eventually the rotten side of human nature will get weeded out of the gene pool!
