Explores the rise of antidemocratic extremism in America. Gives up close detail about Christian nationalists, militia & gun rights groups, far right media organizations, and MAGA supporters. It's heartland Americans that elected Trump, not the coastal elites or educated classes.
Democracy? Depends on a well informed electorate.
Follow Ups:
Or perhaps a less academically indoctrinated and/or media indoctrinated electorate? I agree with you that the "educated classes" (mostly the indoctrinated classes) did not elect Trump. How do you feel about the MSM-amped reports that Trump is going to send Liz Cheney to be executed by a firing squad? Is that part of the curriculum of the "educated classes"?
Neither the yuppies nor the great unwashed peons (GUPPIES) who are in the driver's seat.

It isn't. It's a recurring theme in American politics that's as old as the Republic itself.
We've had civil wars besides THE Civil War. Militias have risen and fallen, several times in my own lifetime.
Trump isn't Hitler. More like, he's the US version of Silvio Berlusconi.
And the electorate knows all about Trump. It voted for him anyway.
So it goes.
The blissful counterstroke-a considerable new message.
