Allegheny County got a couple mill from the Infrastructure Act. The money is being used to build a motion picture studio and expand the Great Allegheny bike trail. The County also got money to make needed improvements to the four big County parks. We, the public, benefit.
Tax credits to offset health insurance premiums were expanded, at least through the end of next year. That's a big help to us since my wife won't qualify for Medicare until 2026.
I'd say those were all pluses.

But that happens, there will be a major backlash. Not just from recipients but from medical practices. My PCP treats Medicare like a piggy bank.
I'm healthy as a horse. I'm going to get on bike and ride 35 miles tomorrow morning, but the doc always wants to send me for tests. Part of it is CYA but part of it is because Medicare pays for it and that's how medical practices roll these days.
My brother is still working, he's an RN, works for the West Virginia University Health System. The have staff meetings, never about patient care. Always about increasing revenue.
