I've been searching many hours for top notch Monitor headphones for around $100. I've narrowed it down to 3 models:
Audio Technica ATH-M50 ~$115
Sony MDR-7506 ~ $90
Sennheiser HD 280 ~$70
I've heard really good things about all of them, and am very torn on which ones should come home with me.
What do you think of the quality and value of these headphones? Any suggestions?

I'd agree with Vinyl Survivor and others - the A-T 50 is a very nice phone. The Sony 7506 had reasonable comfort and good isolation in my "test", but the sound wasn't up to the price point. Also check out the Shure 440, which I bought last week for 99 bucks. For an open-back, the AKG K240 still can't be beat at $99 - great sound and outstanding comfort, although you have to have some robust signal level if you want to play them loud.hth

Don't buy the Sony. I use them at work all the time and they are fine for sound effects but for music they aren't even as good as the new iPod headphones, let alone something like a Sennheiser PX100. I've heard the other two briefly and they both are better. It's pretty easy to resell on ebay so just pick one and give it a try!
Did you ever buy a new pair of headphones? If so, what?
The Fostex T50RP is fantastic for the money. With simple mods it will hold it's own with headphones 5x it's price. Search headfi for a thread that details different mods. It does require a powerful amplifier to sound it's best. Specifically designed as a monitor headphone, and really improves with simple damping.
I have not heard the sony but have heard the sennheiser and once owned it, The AT M50 is much better. The Senn is very dark and veiled IMO The M50 is legendary in its price class. I own the M50LE and it been here for a bit and see no reason to sell it.

I'm a bassist, so it's important the low ends are very solid (not overpowering, though). I've been looking at Monitor headphones for their hifi sound, as well as good sound isolation/low sound leakage.
I recommend the Audio Technica ATH-M50. I use them and they are better than the Sennheiser HD 280. I am not a fan of the Sony's. The Sony V-6 was (maybe still is?) the go to monitor headphone and they suck. Every V-6 I tried literally hurt my ears. I am talking sound, not comfort. The AT's have excellent bass. You will not regret your purchase. FYI AT offers them in a coiled cable or straight cable. I have, and prefer the straight cable. Let us know what you get and your experience once you receive them.
Check out the Fostex T50RP. A great pair of ortho headphones, at a great price. There is a huge thread (or more) about modding them over at Headfi.com
Even stock a great headphone for the money.
