being recorded, manufactured and marketed by any major label? Even with the decline of SACD discs, there are still a few quality labels in the USA and especially in Europe that are still producing quality releases. Is there a DVD-A parallel here, or is this medium dead?

Follow Ups:
Some bands are still releasing DVDA disks together with CD's. Notable examples are R.E.M.'s double disk digipacks, King Crimson's 40th anniversary series and the Talking Heads remasters.
These tend to excellent quality and can often be found reasonably priced from online retailers.
Very high quality recordings are still being released by AIX Records, but it's not mainstream music. I have several of their releases and I can tell you that they are audiophile quality 24/96 material. And Mark Waldrep says there's no watermarking on his recordings: this in itself disqualifies many other companies' DVD-A releases from being true High Resolution audiophile quality product.
AIX is also releasing in the Blu-ray format. I talked to Mark Waldrep about his choice of using Dolby TrueHD and he assured me that he sets Dialog Normalization to OFF (-31dB) in the encoder.
Please forgive my newbee stupidity in this area but, is there an easy way to download hi-rez music and then copy to a DVD-A in 24-96 or 24-196 for playback on a DVD-Audio player? If that could be done then the OP would have access to DVD-A of every disc that can be downloaded in hi-rez. Or, am I way off base?
...called:
All you need is software that will burn the High Resolution files to a DVD. There are a few programs out there that will burn up to 24/96 (the DVD-V format's max resolution) on a DVD. You'll need specialty software to actually make a DVD-A disc, however, but you then get access to making DVD-A discs with up to 24/192 resolution.
There's "for purchase" DVD-A software such as

and there's also some software available on the internet for free, such as DVD-A Explorer

and this
I am just getting started with this. I sort of like having the discs and am not quite ready for a server since things keep changing (and getting better) so quickly. I do own a pretty good hi-rez (DVD/DVD-A) player. IME, the 24/96 regular DVD's would be a good place to start, but I will have to zero in on loading the program, learning how to use it, and finding the music for download. Where can one find whole albums/discs in hi-rez for download?
