arrived over the weekend. Very nice in hi-rez stereo (96/24) as well as Dolby 5.1. I'm really starting to like this album - excellent music with diverse sounds and styles. Very pleasant.
Happy listening...

Follow Ups:
or even just RUSH fans in general, check out this animated drum video (via QuickTime) to YYZ:
The 96/24 hi-rez stereo is excellent, but there is an awful lot of stuff going on in each channel.
I even like the Dolby 5.1, which begins to show the potential for greater openness, clarity and instrument/vocal separation when more channels are available, but the 5.1 would be truly wonderful in a hi-rez format...SACD or 192 or 96 DVD-A...
-recently purchased it and it does not seem to want to play on my car audio system, which is a DVD-A player. The research I did prior indicated that the MVI would play on DVD players. Is a DVD-A player not a DVD player? Advice?
I have this MVI and would really like to get the hi-def in the car on my
DVD-A
Does anybody know of a way to extract the audio from MVI and make a DVD-A
What software can I try?
Pulling the 24/96 Stereo PCM off the Video_TS is easy enough to do.
All you would then need is something cheap & cheerful like Cirlinca's DVD-Audio Solo for the DVD-A.
The DD 5.1 mix is the next best thing to completely pointless in this case - it stinks sonically.
Utter garbage.
Yet we find the labels have our balls in a vice here:
Don't buy the DD crap and they will claim there is no demand for surround, period.
Do buy it and they are already claiming surround fans are "happy with DD".
Losers Jackpot.
I bought this disc, and wish I had not bothered - it's awful beyond belief. The stereo is okay, but the DD 5.1 is a waste of time.
As far as the much-touted "MVI" goes, lets look at what is on offer:
Ringtones
Pre-Ripped MP3
Wallpaper.
Whoop-de-do.
It is supposed to be about the M-U-S-I-C - not bloody ringtones. All we have here is a USA/Canada disc with DVD-Video content & Director/Flash created ROM content in piss-poor stereo MP3. You cannot even register your comments if you live outside the USA or Canda, as after filling in the feedback form, it gets rejected because it cannot understand the postcode - and yes, I did "register" it with Warners, and you get absolutely nothing extra at all.
What a complete & utter waste of everyone's time.
Thanks for the stereo, but I do not care. The surround should be in DTS at least, preferably LOSSLESS.
Imagine the never-ending whining if the stereoheads were told they should be happy with just MP3 releases? You'd never hear the end of it.
Yet surround fans get fobbed off with 11/12 data reduction to a format designed for films. NOT music.
As I only have a home setup, I can't provide specific advise but there are 2 soundtracks on the DVD, a Dolby Digital 5.1 and a 96/24 PCM stereo.Perhaps you need to change the default soundtrack on your auto player?
Hope this helps, I'd love to hear this in surround (even Dolby Digital) in my car!
Enjoy your music...

I like the "making of" video too!
Yes I like the whole disc overall - great sound - good album and nice extras. A good value.
Happy listening...
