As I only havea home setup, I can't provide specific advise but there are 2 soundtracks on the DVD, a Dolby Digital 5.1 and a 96/24 PCM stereo.

Perhaps you need to change the default soundtrack on your auto player?

Hope this helps, I'd love to hear this in surround (even Dolby Digital) in my car!
