Readers brought to my attention, that something happened to the previous post, about the Kimber Monocle XL. Hey, sometimes technology fails.
In the early-90s, when my college friends and I knew about the Duo-Tech Cable Enhancer, we had to clip out recipes. And you had no idea, if those recipes were any good. At least nowadays, you can search the internet, look at photos, watch videos, and look at reviews.
3 decades later, there is still a paucity of cable burn-in devices. Nowadays, most college dining halls have a waffle iron. My old friend, and frequent writing partner, Scylla, has a waffle iron.
If you don't have access to a cable burn-in device, we are tempted to say that you might as well forget about the Kimber Monocle XL.
Regardless of terminations, the Monocle XL is thick, stiff, and unwieldy. You most likely will have to wrestle with it, in order to hook it up. And that applies to your amp, speakers, AND cable burn-in device.
In general, do not leave the Monocle XL on the audiodharma Cable Cooker for longer than 4 days.
When the Monocle XL sees those 4 days of Cook time, it realizes its potential. It's like converting ingredients into the pandan waffle. It becomes (a) less grainy, compressed, and uneven, and (b) much more accurate and self-effacing.

Cable cooker. Do you know what waveforms they use? Do you need to input any signal? Can't you just use a dummy load and your AMP and cable TV to cook?
JBL 52/82 are classics - especially with their waffle grill grills..
In 1991-92, my housemate Todd had a sleek wetsuit. He used it for both surfing and snorkeling.
Anyway, Todd had some Bose "Stereo Everywhere" floorstanding speakers. They cost what for us was a pretty penny: around $600.
Todd's roommate, Doug, brought some generic JBL bookshelf loudspeakers, which cost less than $300.
We changed nothing in the system. We swapped speakers. Everyone, including Todd himself, agreed that, other than bass extension, the JBL was superior. The JBL was more accurate, transparent, revealing, lively, and fast. But I don't think we knew about waffle-shaped speaker grilles!
Are they cold?
Don't let the photos fol you; the ocean water off of Central California is cold, almost always in the 50's. This was my daughter on the Municipal Wharf. The Main Beach," as it's called, is in front of the Boardwalk.
During the winter quarter, Santa Cruz holds a clam chowder fest. Sometimes, the water temperature in the winter is actually a couple degrees less cold than in spring.
