Yes there we have it, that's why I always liked my pure silver also, all system dependant and one's preference of course but it good to be guided by those that have tried.Looking forward to your input soon Oscar.
We have lots of playing to do . Meant to ask, have you tried or do you know of anyone re Accuphase speaker cables ?

Okay I now have a much better feel on what's needed to obtain a better sense of top end extension | resolution from this cord | as mentioned by Tangram, and later Chris from Kam Audio, whom both apparently love pure silver | silver plated copper respectively, I spend time earlier in replacing the blades with a Viborg VM103S Silver Plated Copper AC Male | Monosaudio F101 Copper IEC Female.
And guess what?, while the rimshots and cymbal decay weren't as sharply pronounced as with its stock gold plated brass plugs, it did take on an added sense of purpose as well as charity and speed which were lacking from said gold plated plugs, in truth it's also more natural sounding as if everything was pulled together more clearly | as well as quiet in and around notes, tomorrow I'll have in a set of Xangsane rhodium plated copper AC | IEC plugs, of which I intend to only change out the AC Male and give it a go before knowing which direction I view as absolute?, afterwards I'll exchange the Viborg VM103S Silver Plated Copper IEC Female in tandem with Monosaudio 103 Copper AC Male, yet once again I'm growing more and more fond of this cord with each passing month, and once again believe as used primarily on my source component ( DAC ) I'd be crazy to look elsewhere, so I'm calling it a lifetime and stop here, period ( Chinese junk and all ) be well guys | dolls.
After having just spent another 4 hours listening to more of my handpicked acoustic jazz tracks, and focusing my attention on how instruments like acoustic bass | piano | drums are being rendered, the combination of the silver plated copper ac male | copper iec female offer a more textural type of presentation that just sounds more truer to the source, each note comes across as more beautifully placed in time | yet with an added sense of weight as compared to the stock plugs..., there's a positive vibe to this which has definitely captured my imagination | then some.
Yet I'll conclude said task tomorrow as mentioned trying out a rhodium plated copper ac male, or which as it stands, will definitely have a very very tough act to follow | but one never knows what's possible unless they're willing to suffer through said changes, at such a saving on the cord and plugs, one could in fact do a whole lot worse for spending more, or being driven by fashion or fall into that mindset of more costlier necessity means better, when at times it's merely based upon bragging rights of which has absolutely nothing to do with an items overall musicality.
No $500-$700 sets of plugs allowed on my watch | yet sets priced at or around $150 per aren't out of the question | even then reluctancy kicks in, big time.

Fascinating thread! Wondering what the out come of the heads will be!?
Black Man ( The Original Man );
It's nice to see you here, as it has been awhile | I'm glad you came out of the desert to respond.
But Bro. In all honesty I'm content leaving said tandem of the Viborg VM503S Silver Plated Copper AC Male | Monosaudio F101 Copper IEC Female ride it out.
But there's a side of me that's saying at some point I do have to at the very least rethink the concept of hearing the combination of the Xangsane XS-D06 Rhodium Over Platinum or Monosaudio M101 Rhodium Plated Copper ( I usually select the ones with a transparent top, as the black ones have always struck me as rather boring to look at ) and a Viborg VF503 Copper IEC Female as I'd like to gauge the former combination just a tad longer, as its overall sound is very seductive in ways that once again fail me at the moment.
Yet I'd say there's a sense of completeness | realism | fun factor that's rather enticing as it offers me much more insight | freedom in ways of actually peeking into each | every note as rendered with substance | beauty. Once again the popping bass lines are still intact, yet the lingering of percussion instruments come across as lacking, as one whom has heard both the a Supra USB Cables | SCs will attest, they offer music in a slightly more laid-back manner ( not like certain Cardas designs of years gone by ) where they're refined | sort of rolls of the leading edges.., but the more one listens one begins to realize every spectrum of the music is present, yet done in once again a more refined | warmish manner, which allows one the ability to pick out every single note as crafted in a time domain all their own.
And vocalist recordings seriously have a depth to them where the stock gold plated brass plugs only hinted at.
And lastly, as noted by Tangram | I definitely see the beauty of this power cords shell ( housing ) as one of the best I've looked upon as well as held in my hands, I too will be buying a few extras, should I ever find the desire to place them onto other cords with far less purposefully built housing. These are lookers, that's for certain.
Ina minute Brotha Black.
Peace In The Middle East | as well as an end to the B&W turmoil within our on land. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we'd go back to the good old days like in the Wild Wild West, where everyone could wear guns, and shoot someone for snoring?, and not have to worry about being hung for their actions | picture that shit, maybe in the next life, but as fas as I'm concerned keep the mule, but I'll take the 40 acres as Spike Lee put it so elegantly, restitution long overdue.
No, I'm not an angry African American Canadian of any sort, merely as always speaking my truths | getting concerns off my chest. Hate me not for being verbal, but I've to speak on manners as I see them, so ignore all the hate crimes as you wish | but this shit has gotten worse, as always.
Just my usual rant as always | do try to forgive me that, but as I see things I fear for my granddaughters and their children after them that in this or their lifetimes they'll never know peace.
One World, share it, or destroy it collectively as clowns.
Edits: 01/19/24
Once again I'd ask that each of you forgive my rant from yesterday | as I was reacting in hindsight to our 30 year old daughter | 6 year old granddaughter being tailed by a police car from over 2 miles, and eventually pulled over, and was told she matched the description of someone else, and went on their way, without apologizing, I can't speak for all African Americans, but there's no way in hell we all look alike, my most disgusting trait is that I wear 4 earrings in my left ear | another 3 on the right, so if someone was to stereotypes me based upon someone else only wearing two, then there's obviously a problem.
Anyways let's move on shall we?.
While I'm hearing that the silver plated copper plugs do offer a more romantic type of presentation with anything consisting of vocals, as it brings about a very very layered type of sound, that's smooth, yet as a means of me having to put extra focus in listening to ( through ) drum kits or percussion instruments isn't quite the same as heard via rhodium plated copper..., which has been reported as having a more neutral | smoother | slightly detailed signature which is exactly as I currently know it, and while some claim it's off putting when it comes to how it rendered instruments like pianos | stringed ( nylon or steel ) my senses are telling me differently, while it can to come come across as overly detailed or cold ( sterile ) that's far from the case, and I'm inclined to say one needs to look at both their speakers or amplification as possibly causing said reactions to a type of plating which is only showing us what was initially being glossed over ( watered down ) as the result of using to many connectors with some form of gold plating on them.
Ideally it's up to each of us to once again know the importance of knowing each one of our components individually | as each has its own sound, and requires a certain type of cable or cord, plating type on them to bring about or restore a certain sense of interaction between them collectively | otherwise it's more about trying to place a bandaid on a sore, yet constantly picking at it, that scab ( system ) never really heals ( comes together ) as quickly as we might expect | it's taking the time to nurture both according to " what they need, not what we want from them ", it's having the ability | willingness to listen | listen | re-listen again, once we decide what's missing?, it's only then that we can explore different means of using the sound tuning methodology and restores its overall sense of balance | beauty | tonality which then pulls at our heartstrings | allow us to once and for all enjoy what we've built long term.provided you aren't the type that enjoys buying and seeking off components every 2-4 months without even having given them a chance to burn in before writing them off?, once again these are the types in which I personally wish to avoid any lip service from, as I read into it, why should I take a recommendation on anything from someone, whom doesn't have a clue as to what type of sound they want!, save your negativity for someone else, as the foolish follower type I'm not.
Until the next chapter | be well people | let's try to find it within ourselves to at least pretend we care about one another, that's the hardest part of being human..., is just showing some form of compassion, even it's only for 2-3 days out of a week.
It seems as if every other day I'm able to hear things differently on both the Rhodium | Silver Plated Copper AC Male Plugs ( which once again were recommended highly by two different manufacturers of said connectors | as both once again stressed its the most sound dominant place where the sound carries downwards ) | whereas the IEC Female plugs offers secondary response they both refer to as sound tuning, which in the end makes perfect sense to me.Here's what's occurring right before my ears | Rhodium does once again offers a smoother | more neutral sound where top end detail seems to pop forth from the tweeters ( in my case either true ribbon or metal domed ) where the sensation is more akin to hearing every little hidden nuance or passage being unraveled in away that's spooky real, yet at the same time ( while merely readjusting one's ears ) said Silver Plated Copper AC Male Plugs offers a sort of transparency where the notes come across as more relaxed | with a keener sense of properly balanced mids | highs | bass notes which seem more balanced ( if that makes any sense? ), so I've limited my own personal use to either, or.., while then leads me to explore one other plating type besides Pure ( Red - Un-Plated ) Copper as the long favorite IEC Female by many here, and that's to purchase one of the Monosaudio F109G Gold Plated Copper ones, logically I chose to go this route opposed to others as I've come to rely upon their multiple layering process of plating their plugs, whereas some merely throw a layer of silver | 24Kt gold over a copper based plugs, whereas said Monosaudio offers 4 layering as in copper | silver | palladium, followed by 24Kt gold, which as noted in the above photo I'm about to leave, more or less illuminates what I'm trying to get at.
I'll at some point also have to try the set of silver plated copper ac | iec tandem as to date I've placed a pure copper iec female on all of my cords | with the exception being the Viborg MBU1501 which came stock with rhodium plated copper connectors on both end I'm thinking the truth lies within, and I'm willing to find it, to that you can bet your last dollar.
As Duster was once again correct in selecting the Monosaudio plugs as his new reference point for lower cost alternatives | as I once again justify placing plugs which exceed $200-$750 per set on a $45 power cord, the logic just doesn't add up in my head, and while I've very very fond of say the Oyaide AP | AC-004 " Armored Series " plugs as used on both of my power line conditioner's, even at $156 per ( total cost of $312 per set ), I simply can't rationalize the thought.
Yet as it stands I can't highly | highly recommend both the Rhodium | Silver Plated Copper AC Male plugs as the place to start, of which I once again would love to acknowledge both TanteJuut ( Judith ) | Jon L. for opening my mind to, as they both called this one correctly | to which I'm grateful to you both. As said combination of Rhodium AC | Copper IEC remains intact to this very day in several cords of which I've come to absolutely love, so " Thank You Both ", but knowing as some consider all Gold Plated Copper plugs slow, with what quite a few on other forums see as an exception in the ETI Research Legato Gold Plated Copper plugs, which I believe last time I checked went for $205per, which just might make it into our home sometimes this year?, depending upon how said F109G holds up?.
Tangram, great call on the Pure Silver connectors, but call it a personal bias I've, but I'm not very fond of the black head-plate ( top ) of most brands connectors nearest the blades, and have grown used to the transparent or dark-brownish options found on the SonarQuest designs.
A rather rude | but more than welcomed awakening on all counts | but what an amazing | interesting ride it has been. In the end with any given priced cable, be it IC's | SCs | PCs?, the connectors in my mind are just as ( if not as ) important as the wiring itself.
Go figure...

Thank you for your recent evaluation.
Have you compared the Monosaudio rhodium v Xangsane rhodium plug ? Thank you.
Tangram,You're more than welcome.
Now allow me to weigh in on the sonic differences I've heard during my time trying to understand how to use certain brands of plugs, be they RCA | Binding Post | Banana Plugs | RCA Input Jacks, as it relates to their individual sound.
To my ears the most expensive connectors I've heard were Furutech | my mind for whatever reason would always wander, as if I was being drawn more into listening to the equipment in question as opposed to following the actual notes ( music ) and as I'd learn or read later on, many users felt the exact same way, so while their connectors are extremely well built, the only ones I've ever enjoyed were their rhodium plated copper rhodium or gold locking RCA connectors which couod be screwed down onto the wires themselves.
Oyaide connectors, and AC Receptacles, especially their R1 | R0 along with the carbon fiber faceplate | aluminum housing have remained a constant, but I've only ventured out as far as the 004 types as it relates to power plugs connectors or their banana plugs, of which are my favorite brand to date for said applications.
Viborg to my ears along with say plugs from Neotech | ViaBlue have a more direct type of presentation, whereas either one loves it, or hate them for being more on the slightly forward ( not to be heard | seen as analytical ) side of the audio spectrum, yet they aren't quite " to my ears ", as refined, or delicate sounding in nature as compared to my beloved mixture of different plating as offered through Monosaudio connectors.
Xangsane plugs have an earthy | round world type of approach to their sound, whereas when I bought two of the power cord designs, one was a white transparent 3 braided thingy with said fake looking rhodium plugs, while the other was a variant of their Brazilian Poisonous Lime Green shaded frog if you'll, called by its affiliate as the Greg Knight GK-6008Ag PC, which came with what appeared to be a variant of the cloned Furutech plugs on them, at which point the only ones I listened to where the ones stock on said braided cord | the plugs on said Grey Knight were immediately flipped out for a set of Monosaudio M109R rhodium plated copper male | Viborg VF103 copper, which remains intact on two different integrated amps within our home.
Here's a link that shows the actual purchase of a set of Xangsane rhodium plated over platinum over copper plugs, where they go for $38 the set on AliExpress, yet found on eBay for $18:

Sold by:
vipeos user IDOf which are being shipped to a buddy of mine, as the result of in hindsight me coming to trust the plugs from Monosaudio as they simply seem better built, this based upon both their appearance | differences in actual weight as held in hand, which tells me the latter are substantially better built, with a more secure locking mechanism as compared to Viborg | SonarQuest | Vanguard types of plugs, yet my other favorite sounding pure silver - rhodium plated copper | rhodium and silver plated copper AC | IEC plugs are also those produced by IeGO, where it's a shame the only ones available here in the USA are the ones with the black top plates, which I once again hate, as to my eyes their overly shiny surface is annoying | while I'm aware the plugs are usually hidden behind one's gear, to me it's like buying a used pair of mini-monitors that have dings in the bottom of their cabinets, out of sight one would say, yet in my mind because I'm aware they're there, I'm not going to buy them, much like I won't be willing to own an amp with a crushed rear panel, because I'm aware it's damaged in my mind, seen or not, it isn't going to happen | like when I sell equipment, I usually hear from the buyer, your item arrived as in never used mint condition, such is pride of ownership on my behalf.
So to get to the nitty gritty, I tend to gravitate towards all things Monosaudio because of build quality | a sound which is more refined, mature, as well as cheap enough to play around with different signatures, thing is I refuse to buy them off of Amazon, as they only offer pairs, whereas on AliExpress they can be found sold separately, meaning if I only want an AC Male of this flavors, say Rhodium | their IEC Female in either Copper or Gold, I've a choice in the matter, as well as noting they're generally cheaper on AliExpress as well.
So in many ways I left wondering about the authenticity of whether or not many of these companies are actually using pure copper, versus plated copper as the base metal of their connectors?, as I've been told to avoid anything with brass or nickel and can in fact respect the manufacturers whom are willing to show the innermost construction of their plugs or connectors as to rule out what's what as it relates to honesty.
I mean even the fake Accuphase brass based power plugs have rethought things, and now offer their plugs in rhodium plating, maybe they got wind that many of us felt the gold plated ones do in fact roll off the highs just a tad, and in hindsight once again, I've to believe with this particular cord either said rhodium or silver plated copper plugs bring about a more cohesive | wholistic bettering of the highs | textual beauty | while maintaining a sense of the human element needed from one's system to offer the illusion of accuracy | tonality placed within the right place at the right time.
So while I hear the Xangsane connectors on par with say Viborg | Vanguard | SonarQuest, which aren't bad sounding in the least, but to my way of believing music is meant | should be rendered in real time ( timing | pitch | tonality | textural wise ) the IeGO | Monosaudio simply fit my ears | senses | heartstrings to a " T ", as they're simply more engaging | less HiFi sounding than most of the others.
And of course, it doesn't hurt that when I get in my in-depth research mode, I tend to look at what far more expensive power cords are using as plating on their plugs?, to get a sense of logic as in why?.

Thank you once again Oscar, I understand about the black casings scenario, my take is a little different, basically I like to be able to see the wires that have been screwed down nicely in place and sitting tidily, of course being black you cannot see this, I have actually taken out the blades and used the said clear housings.
I have had my Accuphase cord with gold housings and the Xangsane rhodium plug and Xangsane copper iec in place for a few days now, I am in no rush to swap out at all because it's very very nice where it is, so leaving as is, although I do have the same in Monosaudio to try when again Iam in the mood ! The position is from my balanced power supply to the blue Xangsane receptacle.
All in all a very very happy camper .
And as always | often your welcome, Tangram.
And while I know I'm being overly anal about the color of the shells housing and all, I'd just rather see a Matt black version as opposed to satin black which looks cheesy to me.
Like you..., I've come to simply adore the Accuphase aluminum shell, as it's very well constructed | the bronze ( darkish gold )color itself is beautiful to behold. Next up is as you've yours plating with a Xangsane Rhodium AC | Xangsane Cooper IEC ( while the latter has remained in place since flipping out the stock plug ) at some point I'll get around to trying rotating through the SonarQuest | Viborg VF503 | IeGO 8055 | Monosaudio F103 Copper IECs as well as maybe try out both the Viborg | SonarQuest rhodium as well as silver plated copper IECs, as it stands at this very second said Rhodium or Silver Plated AC plugs both are serving me well.
But..., I'm still curious enough to purchase a Monosaudio F109G gold plated copper this weekend, as the combinations which might prove very effective would otherwise never be known.
As you've stated " happier camper all around ", with the exception of yet one more power cord as pictured above, I do believe once again I don't have any desire to keep looking to change things cable wise, that is.
And why not too !
Both cords have very similar construction | features to boot..., besides the Audiocrast 900 having least stands as it's the one in the bottom photo.
Tangram, what would you make of said difference sonically speaking?.
Interesting designs, could well be the next step, I should think indistinguishable from each other though.
My only concern is their hybrid design of using separate runs of silver plated copper wires within the pure copper outer runs. The worst power cord of which I bought off eBay awhile back offers said hybrid design, yet it was taken out of my system in less then one track:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/175486605690?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=acgppPTnT6i&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=12wYTLIlRo-&var=474804671152&widget_ver=artemis&media=EMAIL
I'll be following your move on this one. And only pursue once you've given the green light.
So today I was in the mood for trying as I now have a good handle on my Accuphase rhodium plug / copper iec into my blue Xangsane.
I found that I had a silver plated copper Viborg iec and swapped out the copper ,
It started out fine listening to Dvorak with more immediacy/ attack, improved timbre and increased focus particularly depicting what's going on in the very back, more clarity on kettle drums
Then I changed to cannonball and his quartet, more listening to sax in particular started getting a little fatiguing as I was beginning to experience a not so good colouration here, kind of verging on shouty.
Maybe if left in overnight or so it may settle in more to my liking ?
Now for the cyco all gold plated copper, here I just found it to be lacking in nuances, it was harder to hear distant cymbal works, rolled off, quite romantic sounding but the attack ans dynamics were just not involving enough, a bit cotton wool is if you like.
So tomorrow, I have changed out the cyco iec to the silver and retaining the gold plug
The other Accuphase cord is back to rhodium plug to copper iec which is my reference.
We shall see then to be continued.
Looking closer at your photo, might I suggest trying the combination of the copper ac male with the silver plated copper iec female, as the combination I'm currently using is said Viborg VM503S silver plated copper male with a Monosaudio F101 copper.
Once again, it seems different brands have their own house sound, where I've found brands like Furutech | Cardas | Neotech offer a more precise type of signature, but one I can't tolerate for very long as I've to assume it's because each use heavier plating techniques than others, whereas the Monosaudio | Xangsane designs are more forgiving in nature, whereas Viborg strikes me as somewhere in between say the sound one gets from brands like Vanguard or SonarQuest, yet one of the most sort after in-plated copper plugs are the CopperColour makes, which many swear by.
I've never thought to use a combination of Silver or Rhodium Plated Copper, together, as I'd imagine the main focus would be geared towards the top end, while lacking mid-range beauty and added sense of warmth | refinement. So far I'm thinking either a Vanguard Rhodium or Silver Plated Copper AC Male used with their stablemate FI-60G Gold Plated Copper IEC Female according to Chris's recommendation sounds valid.
It seems all you've to do if flip out the blades as rhodium followed by silver plated copper ac | copper iec, the latter two should clearly give you a taste of what I'm hearing, different systems an all, the generalization of sound should remain intact.
Photo alert, just a dining room test I'm looking to buy, once again I use my photo gallery as a visual reminder of things which interest me.

Tangram,This is all becoming very very interesting to say the least, but I'd like to post below several letters I received earlier from Chris ( Kam Audio ) as it relates to plating types and all which I've managed to get a feel for where's he's coming from, and intend to act accordingly as it poses some good line of thinking, here goes.
(1st letter ):
Hi Oscar,
Honesty,
Did you seen expensive Hi End cable use different plating AC and IEC?
Is there something too much from the AC plug, so it needs IEC plug to be repaired and modified? In my system, AC and IEC are same plating,
Vanguard Copper Silver and Copper Gold
Furutech Copper Rhodium
Wattgate brass silver and brass non plating(2nd):
Hi Oscar,
Furutech DPS-4.1 with Furutech FI-50 NCF
Acoustic Revive TC1800 with Furutech FI-11R
Harmonic Technology AC10 with Vanguard FI-60
Harmonic Technology OS with Vanguard Gold
DIY solid silver with Vanguard Silverand some old cables unused...,
Furutech 316Ag II with Furutech FI-15G
Music foundation MAS 50A with Vanguard Silver
Audio note ISIS with wattgate silver
Burmester with wattgate brass non plated
Tara Labs The one with hubbell brass non platedFurutech AC and IEC sound very good, expect gold plated.
You can try Furutech or Vanguard replace the Viborg. And this 3rd one just came in after having added the post moments ago:
Hi my friend,
I like silver in my system, as you seen my amps and speaker is warm and sweet.....😅
Playback design DAC is balance and smooth...
I choose Native DSD files, classical and pop.
So, what flavor do you need? please let me know.Harmonic tech is new brand, OEM from Taiwan Neotech, but sound much better than Neotech brand cables....
Quite good, cheaper in USA. Ask your local dealer.
Ali-express and ebay, location in China seller, 100% Fake.
Not my first choice, because price expensive now.Furutech, Japanese.
Ali-express and ebay, location in China seller, 100% Fake.
If you interested Furutech, ask your local dealer.
https://www.furutech.com/distributors/america/
Furutech Normal products made in Taiwan, Flagship products made in Japan.
DPS-4.1 is flagship bulk cable, made by Mtsubishi in Japan.
This cable is the best I have, and I can said this cable is the best of value, and best selling cable.
When you tried, must buy more.Oyaide, not my cup of tea.
Power cable length, I suggest at least 1.5m
Vanguard AC,
My customers recommend Copper Gold, I agree sound better than Furutech Copper Gold too.
If you like non plated copper sound, Vanguard gold will be good for you too.
If you want more detail, 3D, sharp, sweet, Copper silver.
Rhodium, biggest sound stage.

Wire terminals can get large improve. Recommend.Best regards,
Chris
His system is shown above ( seemingly of good quality based components | speakers, as well as his own plugs ) | yet I'm willing to await your findings, as for now my plan is to once again buy a set of plugs, either continuing with a set of his Vanguard FI-60 series of Silver Plated Copper or Rhodium Plated Copper with Carbon Fiber shells AC | IEC?, and be done with this once and for all..., but I did save your Cyko as well as several different makes of the TODN cords into my wishlist, yet I'm going to hold off on the former, until you've given your view on it versus the standard Accuphase version, as there seem to be some differences between the wiring used in both?, but I'm just guessing out loud.Let the journey continue..., Thanks for offering the follow up.

They do look very much like Xangsane , especially the rhodium xlr he does, still good prices.
The cyco are only gold plated only for u.s plugs. More tomorrow on this as previously mentioned.
Still early days and it does take time, IMHO silver is the way to go, but to be all throughout , time will tell , not sure yet how silver plated copper compares to solid silver I have. I will no doubt be trying this out in months to come.
In the meantime I do like the Rhodium plug with copper iec, however this could change.
I will also try the copper plug and sllver iec soon too.
One thing for sure is the Accuphase wire itself is special and so user friendly in management.
Very very true, they certainly do.
As I've mentioned I've only managed to find three makers of Pure Silver Connectors, where the most cost effective ones are the CooperColour at around $154 the set, whereas the Viborg ones come in around $466 the set, and Monosaudio is willing to do a special to order scenarios, they come in at $500 per pair, once again I just can't justify this type of bread spent on a $42 power cord, it'd seem more logical to just outright buy another $600 cord, of which the Accuphase has replaced 3 of which I've owned ( and gladly sold off within the last 3 years I should add ) yet once again, I'm placing the ball at your end of the court, and will follow your lead on this one, as I'm getting dizzy just thinking about the possibilities, yet in truth know there's only 1-4 combinations of which one should stand out above the other two..., whether it's a rhodium or silver plated as the main AC, with either a copper or gold IEC, there has to be one which offers a purely magical effect sound wise, and I'm like you determined to find it.
Party On Garth.
There is one other and that's wirewoo on Alixpress, these look very fine indeed.
Another thing that sways me to solid silver is that I recently replaced my long lengths of Xangsane pure silver interconnects with the Viborg xlr pure silver, I swear now that they are burnt in my system is doing things rather differently, the presentation is just different, spookily different,I put it down to these xlr.
Interestingly during burn in the musical flow/ dynamics would on some days become so bland and lifeless, more than any other burnin I care to remember. Even thought a tube was going down on my phono !
Thanks, Tangram.
I'll look into them, yet if I were to obtain some pure silver connectors, I'd ask that someone like yourself | Jon L. or A Bliss would be kind enough to solder them on for me?, I'd be more than willing to pay one's fee of course.
Like you once again, I simply have come to adore both of the Xangsane IC's, where I can say in all honesty that's one area I no longer ponder what's out there. If for no other logical reason than to throw things out of whack?, which it's my forte.
So from an overnight settle I with the gold plated plug and silver iec.
Simply wonderful, there's a good synergy here to say the least, it just takes everything in its stride, very much in control, more dimension/ layering, even spectacular on crescendo, the control, just another level that I have heard in this position, lowering of colourations on flute, trumpets, sax etc , just more at ease and silkier, Iam sure this will rival pure silver and could even eclipse. I have immediately order the Viborg silver plated iec and Viborg gold plated plug from a vendor on Epay. This is just staying in period and I will explore now with the Epay order when received. So exciting...-..
Very very highly recommended and pushes the wonderful Accuphase wire to new territory in this position I have it connected . Good old gold plating!,
So now the unplated copper and rhodium is out.
I'm beginning to think I'm way overthinking this chasing different brands of plugs option thingies, as I already have quite a few of them sitting here from brands like Xangsane | Monosaudio | IeGO | Viborg and find myself looking at ones from Vanguard | SonarQuest as far as getting sets of gold plated copper ac | iec plugs.
So allow me to slow down and catch myself | use what's already in place..., yet once again trying to figure out whether or not which type of plating should be used as the AC?, and as the IEC has began to cause me more than a few sleepless nights.
As I'm able to distinguish quite different sonics of each of these brands | it's time to figure out which offsets the others more dominant signature?, once again it seems the balancing act has to come into play, as using two Viborg's to my ears lean more towards the slightly harder hitting side of the spectrum | whereas using a Monosaudio on one end or the other, offers a quieter more laid-backness to the sound which strikes me as a more delicate balance, all in all I've to once again say this has proven to be an extremely wonderful journey.
Yet as Tangram pointed out the tandem of silver | gold plated copper plugs offer many seemingly have overlooked in favor of narrowing their choices to just using rhodium alongside copper plugs, there's a lot to be learned should we all be open-minded to change ( growth ) and allow our imagination to soar.
Never settle on what might otherwise seem casted into stone, there are more options to explore than we allow ourselves to believe. But to know where this journey takes us?, we must submit to temptation of thinking our system sound their best without exploring the smallest of details, where connectors matter more than the wires the hold together, Chinese junk or not?.
I see the SonarQuest are cryoed , are you able to hear this as an attribute to the other offerings.
Just coming of their site, I have to wander, and very good prices for the basic range which as far as I can see are the same blades throughout their range. Easy to go for the basic and place in the Accuphase aluminium housing. Possibly thicker plating than Viborg and they do the silver plating.
Food for thought for possible further gains, should I be bothered!
Let's say the seed has been planted from the Viborg offerings Iam going to receive.
The prices are so reasonable anyway especially when you think of how much these audiophile fuses cost and blow!
Maybe my next purchase for the gold plug/iec or in reverse once I evaluate which way round ( if any ).
You're correct as the SonarQuest offerings do use a heavier plating layer compared to Viborg, yet as I've been warned against any plugs with a nickel plating alongside the others, I just placed the claimed Platinum Plated Copper ones aside for now.And I to began to notice that whether it was a companies entry level or top level plugs with some form of exotic aluminum shell housing, the plating of the blades were the same, and like you I've decided to stick with the Accuphase beautifully built | looking shell, to just flip said blades out from the entry - mid level makes instead.
Weird thing is I saw how many messages we've exchanged during this post | with very little to be heard from others, yet as I've received personal emails from 13 people, whom obviously weren't requested here, " but said thanks for doing a good job of sharing said advice ), whom would then ask about the Accuphase PC | plating options, it seems others have been watching from a distance after all, as I do tend to watch on average how many of these cords have sold since two months ago, as well as the YODN cord as listed here ( shows 500+ as sold ):

Which means people are actually buying it..., a good sign in my book.
Once again, I had to catch myself as I tend to buy things more than twice, and am trying to sort through the sonic differences of each brand, as a means of placing two with similar house sound, which might becomes overly aggressive?, or on the other hand overly smooth to the point of putting me into a Power Nap ( bored to shit ) mode.
While I'm aware that IeGO along with the ETI Research Gold Plated Copper plugs are known for offering a faster | more responsive transient attack of notes | liver sound that say Furutech or Cardas plugs, I'm looking to use an IeGO 8065 Silver Plated Copper IEC that I've had laying here for over a year, but as much as I'd love to buy their stablemate 8075 Gold AC Male, that little person standing just to the left of me on my shoulder is speaking into my ear, saying what if it becomes overwhelming?, as opposed to using a brand with a slightly creamier signature which should ideally be an even greater match, synergistically speaking of course.
And once again, when I asked all three firms which make said plugs, which one should I go with if I'd only purchase one?, all of them stated start with the AC ( Head ) " as in like one ( marriage)relationships, where in the old days men ran their homes, and their wife's ( or woman ) only ran it in their absence, which sounds liberal, yet for the life of me I've never once heard a man ( or husband ) say to their children..., wait until your mother gets home, oh you're going to get it ".
All that to more are less say the AC " Male " according to what these guys, and many reviews I've followed on the subject of late, all feel it's the most dominant sound, whereas the IEC " Female " ( oops, there goes the overly aggressive | controlling male figure in me once again ) simply follows his lead, and sings in tune. " BUT " like you I've stated buying sets of each, should I at some point wish to change things up just a tad?, which then leads to another important factor of which I haven't done in awhile..., and that's to change out the actual IEC Inlets on several of my components to better suit the incoming IEC plug according to plating type(s), so I ordered two different flavors of the ones produced by Viborg ( one gold and the other rhodium as shown above ) as I figure gold would perform better with a silver plated plug | whereas rhodium would bring about just enough change to match a gold plated incoming plug, no?.
And while I can't once again solder worth a F_ck, I've always been active in changing out passive components ( like RCA Jacks and Connectors | Binding Post | Banana Plugs ) on amplification | speakers | cables which can be either screwed or bolted down with an O lug or screw sets.
Either way, once again this has opened both my minds and eyes ( actually ears ) to such a wonderful sound, I can only hope others take our words seriously?, not that I care in the least, but it'd be nice to know my ( our ) hearing hasn't quite failed us just yet.
As always I'll catch you on the flip side, have a great | safe week young fella.

Yes the nickel plating, maybe the cryo makes up for this ?Anyway, further thoughts, as I have a spare short Accuphase wire , I will terminate with Xangsane rhodium and the gold plated cyko iec and see what that brings to the table in lieu of the gold and silver Accuphase I now regard as being my reference connecting to the blue Xangsane receptacle.
Mixing again yellow metal with white metal.

Maybe?, yet I'd doubt it. At this point as I've learned over the years to stick with brands known to use only pure copper as their base metal, with a layer of say silver, followed by another of 24Kt gold as far as the gold versions go.
After having heard what's possible with first a silver plated ac and copper iec, followed by now silver ac and gold iec, as of yesterday, as since around 6:48 this morning until now, I'm looking to replace the rhodium ac's on the two Accuphase cords I've placed onto the bedroom system.
Chris ( Kam ) got this one right, while rhodium does offer a somewhat larger soundstage across one's listening area, it isn't as 3 dimensional or holographic in the same manner as the silver plated option, which in our space has artists | musicians properly placed as if in unison like a professional ranked marching band, where precision is vital. This placement of instruments has me more and more absorbed in how each music technique ( good, or bad? ) shines through more clearly..., I'm listening to Marc Copland Trio playing the track " The Bell Tolls " at this very second and the interaction between his piano | Drew Gress on Bass | Bill Stewart on Drums is simply moving, I've long felt since 1968, I've never heard a record label with recorded drums ( essentially cymbals | little percussive sounds ) quite as clearly | cleanly as ECM Records, where to my mind some of the recordings on Posi-Tone or CrissCross come in a close second and third.
With jazz, it's often how the acoustic bass, followed by the drum kit and pianist catches me just right, where everything simply sounds on song ( as in clipping on all cylinders ) as if the musicians themselves are seriously enjoying themselves, as opposed to how some are simply looking for a check, and their playing rather boring spotlights this all to easily for someone with an ear for pitch, as well as an emotional attachment from the music itself, no need for HiFi parlor tricks, I'm more than content with the plugs as they're, yet with an open mind as always be keen on seeing what your findings are?.
Yellow - White Metal indeed.
Hello guys,
I have been following this thread with great interest and I have been exchanging emails with Oscar occasionally. I decided to ask some questions here as they could benefit others too. So here it goes:
1) How does the modified Accuphase cable compare with the Grey Knight / Xangsane P-6008Ag power cable? Which one do you prefer?
2) Has anyone attempted to change the AC and IEC connectors of the above Xangsane cable?
Thanks guys and I really appreciated the effort and time of all of you.
Hello Greg,
As far as I'm aware only Dantheman and I've the Greg Knight GK-9008Ag PC, where in my case it easily surpassed | eventually replaced both of the Viborg 1606 | 1501, as well as two different models of the NEARdost ( Odin 2 | Odin Gold ) PCs which were first placed on a Pathos Acoustics Classic Model One MK ll hybrid integrated amp, followed by being used on a Naim Audio SuperNait 3, which was the first time I actually thought to try a silver plated copper power cord on either.
To say I was immediately impressed with the sense of spaciousness | silence to notes | better grip on the IEC plugs was enough for it to become my primary cord in said location in two different setup throughout our space. Yet admittedly I did change out the stock Rhodium blades, as I wasn't certain of their true to copper base metal roots, and used a Monosaudio M109R rhodium AC | IeGO 8075 Copper IEC, where both have remained since their inception, which might change now that I've two sets of both Silver Plated Copper and Gold Plated Copper AC | IEC's on the way.
Yet as it stands..., but the Greg Knight | Accuphase ( the latter modified with said Silver | Copper plugs plays very very nicely ) of which I see as being here for the long haul, as I've sworn off even looking at other brands or type of wiring as far as PCs go. Each offers a different set of sonic features which draw me into the music in such a manner whereas more costlier cords couldn't approach | in fact for the sole purpose of being used on my music server, the Accuphase replaced essentially a $600 Silver Plated Copper Cord with Pure Silver - Rhodium Plated plugs on both ends, of which I missed this cords sense of speed | snapping bass line | top end extension and so on within the first two days or so, but as my ears | senses began to adjust to a more refined | beautiful | relaxed type of presentation I found it took the slightly edge off of the everSOLO DMP-A6, of which some referred to as bright, whereas I on the other hand heard it as detailed, of which I've come to prefer over an overly warm | watered down type of signature which only purpose is to put me to sleep even faster.
Said cord in which the Accuphase PC replaced:
https://www.usaudiomart.com/details/650045790-jena-labs-crimson-red-rx-power-cord-iego-8095-ac-iec-plugs/
In my world, as this statement might come across to some as being brash?, it will always comedown to how I hear " Mi-Fi " as carefully voiced to suit not someone else's taste or preferences, but my own.
At this point I can only focus on looking outwardly | towards the future, which both both of these PCs have secured a spot in my system | as well life..., one more custom made Monosaudio Silver Plated Copper AC to be shipped, as shown above, and I'm done with the whole concept of PCs, for that I'm certain ( or am I? ) the shadow knows.
Oscar,
thanks for our response and as always I appreciate your input.
I think I will order this week some Accuphase and some Grey Knight power cables. The plan is to order enough of them and fit them with different connectors and compare the said cables. I have enough connectors except the silver plated ones. I may have to order some of them too.
Do you feel they need some burning/ settling time?
I will post my findings once the items are ordered, received and modified.
Thanks again!
Greg,As always | often you're more than welcome. In life I've come to believe in what " I hear " and only feel the desire to speak on them publicly as I've to believe many would in fact understand why I love both of these power cords. Much like some make generalizations on tube brands like the European Sisters they've offered called, like Amperex | Mullard | Telefunken, yet more importantly is the actual factory each were produced in, carries more weight, as they were often built in different locations, where some factories offered a far better sound than another | even then, how does each of these compare to say tubes made by CSF Thompson or Mazda " Long Black Plates | D-Getter NOS 1952-56 "( France ) or TEN Kobe or NEC " Long Grey Plates | Square Getter NOS 1956-63 " ( Japan ) or Lorenz " Long Black Plates | D-Getter NOS 1951-57 " ( Germany ), one needs to have a solid point of reference, lest they wish to settle on the more commonly found brands from any given era, while not willing to invest in the more advanced or musical versions made to date.
Areas like tubes | turntables | cartridges | now cabling looms are where I've spent decades studying what's what, and while I grew tired of posting as far back as 2016, it's only when I feel something needs to be shared with others, that I feel obliged to put fingers to keyboard ( pad ) and make an effort to share said findings ( discoveries ) once again in hopes that others will get it?, and if not?, I won't lose a bit of sleep, especially knowing as the old song went " I did it my way ", and glad that I've followed my own path, as opposed to being misled by others whom seemingly at times choose to remain clueless, which I'm more than okay will.
To study said items is knowledge | which in itself turns to wisdom | once learned after having lived with, one then knows truth.
I don't believe there's not much one can't hear with either of them straight out of their respective boxes, that won't shine through, but changing out the blades according to one's chosen flavor is vital.
Once again...-, you're welcome.

That's simply wonderful new, and one I've to add I had concluded would be the direction I was looking to pursue. Yet I was going with the Vanguard Silver Plated Copper AC | matching Gold Plated Copper IEC, but can with your assessment see doing this the other way around, if for no other reason than to avoid cleaning the silver plated copper ac male blade on occasion as the result of them blackening overtime.
As I once again read through Chris's statement on how he felt rhodium offers a larger soundstage | while at this point, especially with the Accuphase PC, I'd much rather focus on getting that last ounce of snap and extended top end from it.
So it definitely seems we're both on the same page | I applaud your efforts in finding your way, as it happens to be the exact path I'm on.
Great job ;-)
Not sure about back to front from what I have found, I would say there will be a difference though, let's see what you find. BTW the soundscape is more advanced/ larger especially the hidden depths ,than rhodium and copper. Have no fear on achieving your desired top end , more defined, I would say in a timbre way.
Let's see. BTW I have a spare gold iec from the cyko offering not in use so I would just need the silver / copper plug to do a compare on the back to front I have just said.Just a heads up, remember the Chinese new year vacation looming.

I just purchased both a Viborg VF503G | Monosaudio F101G Gold Plated Copper IEC's to go with the Viborg VM503S Silver AC, as well as the Vanguard FI-60G Gold Plated Copper AC to go with the Viborg VM503S Silver IEC that's placed in the drawer | so I'm set on trying it both ways around.
Now let me set those other plating types aside for now, as in out of sight | out of mind. I trust you enough to know it isn't in your head, and would like to say thanks again for your open-mindedness on all of this, it makes sharing that much easier when one comes across like minded | spirited souls.
Take care young man | until next time then.
My only concern is their hybrid design of using separate runs of silver plated copper wires within the pure copper outer runs. The worst power cord of which I bought off eBay awhile back offers said hybrid design, yet it was taken out of my system in less then one track, talk about in your face..., there's no way in hell this would ever be called a musical power cord | I've to,admit that I came away loving the fit of the angled plugs though:https://www.ebay.com/itm/175486605690?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=acgppPTnT6i&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=12wYTLIlRo-&var=474804671152&widget_ver=artemis&media=EMAIL
I'll be following your move on this one. And only pursue once you've given the green light.
And I'd like to hear your thoughts on using gold plated copper plugs on the Accuphase, shouod you ever wish to explore this option as well?. I've two more plugs to buy and I do believe I'll be calling it a day on what's what on this cord.
And lastly..., while it seems you're very taken with the combination of using a rhodium ac | copper female, I've to urge you to consider buying a single Viborg silver plated copper male before settling on said tandem, you owe this one to yourself. What I'm hearing at this very moment is simply wonderful.
Edits: 01/24/24 01/24/24
No , I wont be purchasing , yes easy for me to do the gold plated swap out, will let you know whenever, no rush though , thanks for the heads up on the Viborg silver plated option , I will have a look.
Understood | as I'm hesitant myself on going said route of anything hybrid based, I'll stick with the Accuphase as my sole copper based power cord | as well as the Greg Knight, but will be purchasing both a Viborg rhodium plated copper male | stablemate gold plated copper female by week's end.
If nothing else at least they'll be here as you say " should the mood strikes me to try something different? ". And I once again believe what I was told in private by 3 manufacturer's of power plugs whom all mentioned to me in their letters, that they both much prefer silver plated copper plugs over rhodium or gold plated versions, of which I count myself now amongst its proponents, call it what one likes, I'm a believer in what's heard, not written on paper.
It merely seems to offer the very very of all worlds | in a more effortless manner, where nothing pops out at you until the recording calls for it...-, the overall scale | balance are off the charts, YMMV?. " BUT ", what if I'm ( there were ) right?. It's worth knowing if for no other reason than to simply know the truth.
Yes, and I do have two Accuphase cords with silver, and adore them too, so I guess I will be trying the silver plated Viborg ones then in the Viborg plastic casings and swap them out to the Accuphase, anyway the Xangsane rhodium ones I have will go to the subwoofer and a linear power supply.
To recap Viborg silver plated plug and unplated copper iec connectors.
I may just order another Accuphase pc and that's me done in this department too.
Tangram,The thing to take into account is I'm using mine like Judith did in more of a hybrid form using two different brands | said Viborg VM503S silver plated copper ac male alongside a Monosaudio F101 copper iec female, so basically it's taking the different plating flavors of each brand ( model ) and offers a sound which isn't therefore struck in the camp ( house sound ) of either brand, yet collectively offers a very very very balanced presentation.
So as I stands, I'm only looking to buy a Vanguard FI-60M carbon fiber | silver plated copper male, as well as sample one of the Viborg VF503G or Monosaudio F101G gold plated copper female plugs, for the sake of knowing that I didn't overlook any other possibility?. As usual I tend to browse between eBay or AliExpress were I'm able to buy what's needed individually as opposed to being forced to buy a set as seems to be the norm on Amazon.
I've about 3 different brands of rhodium plated copper males just sitting here unused as the result of allowing the silver plated one to settle in on its own, and can't fantom going in any other direction anytime in the foreseeable future.
Logically I tend to once again gravitate towards the plugs made by both Viborg | Monosaudio ( sister companies ) as I was told by those guys that make connectors both actually use pure copper as the base metal on their plugs, whereas some Chinese makes are suspect | as I'm not one of you more daring or technical types, I don't feel comfortable filing down the uppermost plating to know what lies underneath.
I'm chewing on the thought of adding some rhodium plated copper solderless RCA connectors onto one or both pairs of the Xangsane IC's, and stopping there.

It appears as if we've a winner here as well.
If only you're willing to share this cords link with me?, as it certainly looks the part.
Weird thing is I know that I'm very very happy with both of the Xangsane Sterling Silver IC's | the Greg Knight GK-6008Ag PC | Xangsane SP-6008 SCs | Accuphase PC, yet am always it seems watching cables, especially knowing what can be had for less than $200 these days, I'm more than content leaving those with deeper wallets | pursuing bragging rights to their own biases as well as devices.
Once again " I've to trust what I hear versus what's written in invisible ink, as far as I'm concerned ". Do share.
It definitely seems as if the stars have finally begun to align in both of our situations | all one has to do is ask questions from those that know | as well as those that actual produce said plugs.
Looking at my recent USPS updates, I've three packages arriving tomorrow | so I'm putting things on the back burner for now | but will be looking to update things by Sunday evening.
Thanks again for walking me through this | I owe you several rounds of beer!, cheers.
