As you can see, when the signal crosses zero the switches on the positive rail and negative rail are half open. This greatly reduces the crossover distortion and improves the stability of the amp in low impedance loads. This is similar to the class A in a analog amp.

My bad. According to Crown Audio, XLS 2502 is a class D amp not class I.
Their class I amps like K1 and K2 have a better bass but worse treble.
Also there is a 1.3ms latency. It is not an easy job to bi-amp or subwoofer if you are sensitive to phase delay.
