I agree, but it depends on the cartridge used. I have the 3009 II Improved with the fixed headshell, and if my memory serves me, it was designed with the Shure V15 III cartridge in mind. It is good for moving magnets/irons, but only a scant few moving coils like it. Ivan is correct, if a low output moving coil is your choice.
