Re: way with words

Error #1 :
"at this rate, they'll probably surpass the Technics SL1200 as the best-selling turntable of all time in just a few years"

Nope, not in just a few years. Try never. And probable ? Not even feasible.

I agree. In fact, I've said so twice so far in this thread. I used the term "tongue-in-cheek," so to help you get it, I'll use another term..."hyperbole."

Error #2 :

"What part of .... didn't you understand ?"

Snide response to a regular here, pretty much un-called for by a new arrival.

A snide response is not an error. It's a snide response, to a snide statement. And I first registered here in 1999, so I'm hardly new here.

Error #3 :

"comments are supposed to be tongue-in-cheek. I'm sorry you missed that"

See error two, above. Ivan303 rightly called you for the sloppy hyperbole and you get sarcastic ? Nice.

Error two wasn't an error. In fact, it was your error. But yes, it was hyperbole. And I can't think of a single serious person who would read what I wrote and think that the Scout would genuinely outsell the 1200. Except for Ivan, I guess, who again was the first to be sarcastic.

Error #4 :

"Did you pour over the article for hours and hours ..?"

Howlingly, laughably far-fetched. That sounds several hours longer than you must have spent writing it. One hopes, given the payoff.

What payoff are you talking about? But to tell you the truth, yes, it takes me two hours or less to write that specific column, one of three I write under the Vinyl Anachronist column for different publications.
