You do not have to replace fuses every six months

but it cannot hurt. The turn on current surge slowly alters the fuse's element, particularly if it is one of the more commonly used fast blow types.
Of course if I spent $30 for a gold flashed fuse I would never want to change them.
Whatever you are doing, don't let me stop you. It is all very harmless.
