IME, soldering AC conductors rather than use of a cheapie quick-disconnect connector is superior -- the main issue is the quality of the interface. IMO, some AC connectors do sound better when soldered (Furutech FI-15 AC connectors), but in general, a solderless termination when stellar quality clamping plates or set screw terminals are involved is a better option.
