Your point is well taken,though, and the current UL regulations prohibit soldered connections for that very same reason (Also because a short and a prolonged current surge can melt the solder). I generally use just enough solder to hold the loop of solid core closed. That way tightening the screws doesn't cause the loop to expand out from under the screw head, a problem I have encountered in the past.Stu
