I do that also, but sometimes I fabricate banks of capacitors using solid core romex as a sort of bus bar. I dislike using washers as it constitutes an additional metal between the actual post. The landings on many computer grade electrolytics do not have a very large landing area and the soldered loop is very much more stable mechanically.
Use of appropriate tools is always good advice. ,I fortunately, have jewelers' pliers with nice smooth round tapered tips, ideal for forming loops.
