The optimum solution would be to use a copper eyelet terminator, which I don't think is made. You would squish the split terminator onto the end of the wire, making good contact all around, and the eyelet would make good contact with the screw and backing plate. This maximizes contact surface area, and using copper avoids a diodic contact made by dissimilar materials.
