I have a late 80's vintage set of JBL studio monitors and I want to replace the old electrolytic capacitors with new ones. I have replaced the woofers with upgrades that JBL offers, but the sound is still a little thin and slightly harsh. I want to try and upgrade the caps to see if this helps (since the caps are almost 2 decades old, I figure it wouldn't hurt anyhow)
My questions are this:
I heard that I should use film caps, what are good brands/types that are considered "warm" and where can they be ordered from?
Do I replace the caps with ones of the same uF values?
Any other tips or components that I should look into besides the caps?
Thankyou for the help.
