That ERS Cloth looks great.A little background for you:
I have a heavy cold rolled steel box I was planning on using for a DIY amplifier.
However, people on this forum seem to much prefer Aluminum.
The threads I've read describe steel housing as quite nasty sounding -- I don't know, cause I haven't built it yet, and don't have the knowledge/ experience of the others here.I thought that copper plate bonded to the chassis would only protect the signal from the distortion from all that ferrous steel. The RFI/ EMI blocking paint (like the one from MG Chemicals) is supposed to help also.
Would it be ridiculous to have the paint, plating, and ERS cloth layered inside the chassis? overkill I guess -- especially cause I wanted to try some of those 3M Damping Sheets too... haha If I include all this stuff I won't have room for the ciruit!
The chassis has to be painted regardless -- so I might as well use the nickel/ silver/ copper stuff. But I'm leaning toward lining the inside with the ERS cloth, instead of plain copper plating.
Thanks for your help,
any advice is always appreciated -- I'm learning a lot!-rob
