See figure 7a in the linked NASA report (a pdf file).Substituting a silicon carbide Schottky in place of a silicon p-n junction diode will reduce the output voltage of the rectifier bridge, and the output voltage of the filtered supply. For tube B+ supplies, the difference of about a volt will be unimportant, but for a tube filament supply, the reduction may starve the tube.
Substituting a silicon Schottky will increase the output voltage slightly. This should not shorten the tube filament life, but should be checked to be safe.
The silicon carbide Schottky diodes are best used in higher voltage circuits because of this forward voltage issue.
