I've forgotten what the "winged C" means as I don't see anything like that on the tubes or boxes. However, like you, I am fortunate to have bought mine (date code 0209) back in the aughts. I bought 8 for my Altec 1569 amps just before I immersed myself in single ended amps, so never got around to using them. So I am now using four of them in a Welbourne mod ST70 and they sound very nice. I have four more new in the box.
I wouldn't be surprised if they sound better than what's available today.
