When i bought my Quicksilver Mono 90's off the for sale site on here years ago, the seller forgot to send me the 12BH7's. He said i could use 12AU7's in place of/until i got 12BH7's. I'm using a pair of Sylvania 12BH7's in them now. I didn't notice much difference between the AU7's & the BH7's, but i think the BH7's sound a little better. As for darker sound i'm not sure it'll make much difference depending on application. I think mine are in a phase splitter mode!? Anyway, you should still be able to find some and i don't think they'll cost too much. I could be wrong though. Tom
