I'm not sure how a damper could cure microphony. No offesnse, but IMO it's an flawed assumption. Chances are, the tube(s) would've likely settled down on its own, with or without a tube damper (happens all the time, as does vice versa).Some sibilance/microphony can create an artificial sense of added tone, air, and/or detail. Over damping a tube can indeed make a tube sound less "sparkling" IME.
