I use Herbie's dampers too. In most case they do well expecially for tubes are heavily microphonic. The first thing I find the damper heals microphonic. This means after I keep the damper on a microphonic tube (new) for a few months, when I take off the damper, microphonic disappears or is reduced to an acceptable level. There is another thing I find out with Herbie's dampers. Not all the non microphonic (I know all tubes are microphonic just in different level) tubes benefit from the dampers. Some sound more concentrated and tight while some take off the air and detail from high and midrange. So, be careful when you attempt to use the dampers and be await of they don't always do good for tubes. It all depends.
