I don't think there's much doubt that the guitarists tubes have gone up dramatically - silly prices these days.I've invested in small signal DHTs - bought a thousand or so. They do seem to be going up in value, but the market is much smaller and might dwindle to a few radio hams and a small bunch of fanatics who believe - as I do - that nothing sounds any better. That may not be enough to hike up the prices of the mountain of 26s which is out there somewhere.
As for all the really good tubes that nobody wants to buy - 7N7, 6AH4, 2C22, 1626 etc, I think they are all going to end up as unloved orphans in ten years or so, despite the fact that you could build amps with them that would knock the whole of CJ, Audio Research and the like into a cocked hat.
