Sorry, but it will take someone more technologically knowledgable than I to answer your 845/ceramic question. And if you pursue the Chinese 845 situation, you'll find the nomenclature situation pretty hopeless. I just got a new pair of, I think, 845Cs, and the bases sure didn't look like the last pair, also 845C. These were Shuguangs from Sophia Electric, by the way, and the new ones sound very nice indeed.
