Grainger,Since the triodes in the 6F8G are the same as in a 6SN7, you can go with an "old friend" and use Foreplay topology.
It's fairly easy to build adapters from Octal plugs, Octal sockets, top caps, and wire that allow you to use both 6SN7s and 6F8Gs to work in the same sockets. Is a FP3 in your future? ;~)
Speaking of adapters, Locktal sockets and Octal plugs would let you try 7N7s. You'll have lots of "rolling" opportunities.
